Your role in the team

To maintain EXMAR’s IT infrastructure in the EXMAR offices and on board EXMAR operated or owned assets in order to ensure business continuity without interruption of service.

Your responsibilities and tasks include:

 Problem solving including support in case of breakdowns, assistance in resolving application issues, reviewing/adapting/upgrading security measures, restoring data and providing support for software applications on board the floating assets

 System monitoring covering follow-up on capacity of various systems, acting proactively (e.g. monitor resources available for servers) and making sure back-ups are available in case needed

 System upgrades and changes through performing software upgrades to shore or on board infrastructure, implementing new hard- and software, planning and executing hardware refreshers on board, reviewing requests and advise the business

 Continuous improvement covering the review of infrastructure components’ configuration and advising the IT Director on continuous improvement initiatives.

Your profile

 Education: Bachelor Electronics and IT engineering

 Experience in IT infrastructure support is a plus

 Basic knowledge of:

o Exchange server

 Good knowledge of:

o Cisco networking

o Windows server (AD/DNS/DHCP/WSUS/WDS/…)

o Azure AD + Office 365

o Cisco Webex Teams + Meetings

o Cisco Hyperflex / VMWare

o Microsoft Office applications

o Programming, scripting and mark-up languages (PowerShell, VBScript,...)

 Ability to remain calm and think clearly when business impacting incidents occur

 Ability to communicate with the business in a clear (non-IT) language – working language is English

 Ability to understand business needs and advise accordingly

 Although based in Kingston, you must have the willingness and ability to travel regularly and sometimes spend lengthy periods abroad, worldwide but mainly in the US or in Europe and also on board ship.
