GK General Insurance Company Limited (GKI) invites applications from persons who are eager to contribute to our HR Team in the position of:
HR Officer
Reporting to the Senior HR Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for:
Assisting with the recruitment and selection of employees.
Design and implement a system to effectively track qualified candidates and consistently monitor the data bank to ensure that qualified prospects are identified and interviews conducted with a view to placing them in the future.
Design, recommend and implement where appropriate and relevant reward and recognition programmes geared towards the motivation of employees.
Research and recommend courses to help bridge the skills and competency gaps of employees as identified in their performance appraisals or by the Supervisor.
Ensure employee training records are maintained and updated.
Manage the payroll process for the company.
Assist with monitoring the staff welfare budget, regularly monitor expenditures; prepare summary assessments and reports.
Ensure all employees complete their CIPS Exams and are registered with the FSC accordingly.
Manage and maintain a record of CIPS Examinations and FSC Registrations.
Assist Snr. HR Officer in developing and executing HR strategies
Assist Snr. HR Officer with the creation/revision of job descriptions based on operational changes or restructuring.
Minimum qualification/experience required:
First Degree in HR Management, Psychology or Organisational Development from a recognized University
Three (3) years experience in an HR coordinating role
Excellent knowledge of Jamaica Labour Laws and HR Management principles, policies, procedures and best practices
Working knowledge of SAP would be an asset
